Lost In Sofa // Daisuke Motogi

With the tag line "Anything can be inserted anywhere", Daisuke's Lost in Sofa has built in slots in which the user can place their desired objects.  By adding an extra function to an everyday object (in this case, a sofa on which we usually associate with sitting), the experience of using that object is recreated. Sitting on this sofa obliges the user to re-consider their sense of body self, as they are not merely sitting on a seat, but sitting on a table-cabinet-shelf-like object with which "sitting" is not usually associated. In this way, the concept of "phantom limb" can be further explored through the amalgamation of the functions of more than one object?
